Last night, Katie and I had dinner with my parents at Texas Land & Cattle Co, and they were telling us how my mom accidentally erased all of her emails. Evidently, when she told my dad, he told her that it was a "dumb-ass thing to do." My dad said that he thought saying "stupid" would be offensive, so he decided to go with a phrase which he assumed was less abrasive: "dumb-ass." I personally don't see it, but I'm glad that he was trying to spare her feelings.
