Wednesday night, Tyson and I went to see Pilotdrift and The Polyphonic Spree. Tyson was on the guest list because he's "that guy" who is evidently cool and rock star worthy. The show was amazing - I've never seen The Polyphonic Spree except for on TV, and they're awesome (though I was disappointed with how their show was mixed). To be sure, The Polyphonic Spree (more of a movement than a band, as they say) inspire a parade of VW EuroVans in the parking lot. Pilotdrift, however, were no less impressive. Their sound is unreal - so very, very cool...and again, very cool. Their music is truly original - experimental yet engaging. It's like happy modern harmonic art rock in space. The atmosphere was great too - it was one of those shows that made you feel like you were in The O.C.
